NSW: Firefighters and volunteers get warm reception at parade

SYDNEY, Feb 8 AAP - Clapping and waving Australian flags, Sydneysiders today cheeredand thanked 8,000 firefighters and emergency services volunteers at a tickertape paradethrough the city.
About 60,000 onlookers, some brandishing banners heralding the firefighters as heroes,lined George Street as the parade wound its way from Circular Quay to Town Hall to thetune of blaring sirens and chants of "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie".
