Books would seem to be a languishing holdover from another era at a time when the Internet and multitudes of television channel clamor for people's attention.
But aboard the C-SPAN School Bus, the world of books has found a flouring home.
Parked outside City Hall on Tuesday, the C-SPAN School Bus was giving the public, especially school children, an opportunity to see the inner workings of television and the place books have in the world of new media.
``We're talking to them about the importance of books,'' said Peter Kiley, C-SPAN's senior manager of affiliate relations.
