Fed: Vaile proposes local plebiscites on nuclear power stations

Deputy PM MARK VAILE says Australians opposed to nuclear energy .. could vote against
it in local elections.

Speaking at the National Infrastructure Summit in Sydney .. Mr VAILE says his Nationals
party supports the government's push for nuclear energy and uranium sales.

But he says Nationals candidate SUE PAGE is allowed to voice anti-nuclear views ..

if it's best for the constituents in the NSW seat of Richmond.

And he says Ms PAGE could even cross the floor if necessary.
